Part of the passion of joining a CSA is an underlying drive to eat locally and support local, small farmers and businesses. Below, you’ll find some of my favorite resources for the northern New Jersey area – farmers, farm markets, shops, restaurants. If you have suggestions for places I should try, please let me know.
Saturday mornings and early afternoons at Walnut Street train station in Montclair, NJ. Farmer John (to whose CSA I belong) is there each week. Look for Circle Brook Farm. You get a 10% discount if you are a CSA member!
Located in Andover, NJ. This is the main farm involved in my CSA, and when I refer to “Farmer John,” this is the farm I am referencing. Organic, environmentally conscious, and local.
Located just outside of Hackettstown, NJ, this orchard supplies the fruit share I enjoy in my CSA. Tree-Licious can also be found at the Montclair Farmers’ Market.
